Senate candidate visits Cambridge
Al Franken is the DFL-endorsed candidate for the United States Senate race.

Satirist-turned-politician Al Franken was in Cambridge on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the DFL headquarters in the old courthouse building off Second Avenue Southwest.

Franken fielded questions from local Democrats about the economy. Here, he talks with Karen Strike about her family farm. The Cambridge stop was part of a state-wide listening tour the Franken campaign was conducting this week.

He was also there to pitch his proposals to assist the middle class. This included a 401(u) retirement plan that would provide portable retirement benefits matched in part by government funds.
