To the Editor:

On Saturday, Aug. 23 the Stanchfield Baptist Church offered what it called “The Great Stanchfield Give-Away.” This was a way to make items – from clothing, to food, household goods, school supplies, furniture, appliances and more – available to the community free of charge.

Approximately 175 people attended this event and benefited from items donated by our church members, friends and the community. There was also an opportunity to put one’s name in for a drawing of gifts given by local businesses.

We would like to thank Main Street Market and Deli of Braham, Braham Video, Pizza Pub of Braham, The Park Cafe, Braham Country Styles, Linda’s Hair Design of Braham, McDonalds of Cambridge, Braham Hardware and Rental, Pizza Pub of Cambridge, Braham Food Locker, Cub Foods of Cambridge, Culvers of Cambridge, Applebees of Cambridge, Braham, Country Floral, and Arby’s of Cambridge, and the Sonrise Piecemakers Quilting group for donations of gifts for the drawing. Thanks to all who contributed items for the Give-Away, and volunteered in any way to make this day a success.
