See fireworks light up the sky in North Branch or Cambridge on Friday night.

• Cambridge celebration begins at 9:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds. KBEK-95 will simulcast patriotic music during the display.

• Enjoy a free pork dinner at River of Life Church beginning at 5 p.m. Play sand court volleyball or horseshoes, then try your hand at the dunk tank. There will also be a moonwalk and games for the kids. And the popular car smash returns.

• North Branch festivities begin at 5 p.m. in Central Park. At 9 p.m. cheer for your favorite contestant in the “North Star Idol” contest. There will be family activities, games and food.
